Mother of Perl, the sailing vessel, is becoming a new boat with new owners (see photo, left). She changed hands on Tuesday, the 15th of February. Her last passage as Mother of Perl was up the Piscataqua river to the Elliot, Maine facility of Kittery Point Yacht Yard, where whe was hauled out for her survey. When she (under a new name) is back in the water in the spring of 2011, she will head on down to her new home port of Salem, Massachusetts, one of New England's most famous shipping harbors during the days when sailing ships ruled the world.

The maperl.com site will continue with the current content, and will start to also include art by the members of the Smith and Forbes families.
