While preparing Mother of Perl for her 2007 launch, Capt. Ben Smith fell approximately fifteen feet onto his back and fractured one of his vertebra. Injuries of this sort take a long time to heal, so Ben decided to use the money he had budgeted for the three months of cruising in 2007 (and some additional funds) to improve Mother of Perl in preparation for her sale. In 2008, Capt. Ben brought her from the Caribbean to Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Mother of Perl is now available for $185,000 USD through Bob Cook. Bob is a very experience sailor with hundreds of thousands of miles of bluewater under his keel. He is also a Edwards Yacht Sales. He holds to the truth that honesty up front avoids disappointments at the end.
